Meet Marci

Marci gained over 75 lbs when she was pregnant with her son.  She tried natural birth, but after 12 hours of labor she had an emergency c-section.  Having to wait 12 weeks (84 days) before getting back into physical activity gave her a lot of time to think, and on the last day of her exercise hiatus, Marci set a goal to run a half marathon.  After a few years of running ‘like Forest Gump’, she decided to try weight lifting.  She quickly fell in love with the way lifting weights sculpted her muscles. The gym became a place for Marci to unwind from the stresses of the day and to help her regain mental, physical and emotional strength.  When Marci was asked about competing in a fitness competition, she was thrilled someone thought she could still do a fitness competition in her mid-40s.  She was a shy girl growing up and was scared to get up in front of strangers, let alone… IN A BIKINI. She pushed herself to overcome her fears, and placed 2nd in her first competition, then took 1st place the following week in a second event.  At this point, she was hooked on Fitness…not only for the physical benefits, but also for her improved mental and emotional state. Marci has since competed in several more fitness competitions over the last 7 years where she placed 1st in Bikini Masters and Top 10 in Bikini Open Class.
